Cultural Fund

The Screenrights Cultural Fund makes a difference by supporting people with exciting and innovative new initiatives that foster the creation and appreciation of screen content in Australia and New Zealand.

FOCUS 2023: NEW VISIONS

New Visions aim to let us see something differently. Perhaps it’s a reimagining of creative processes, an innovative way to connect with audiences, or a project which destroys stereotypes – or perhaps all of these,” says Screenrights Board Director Rachel Antony, who has taken over as Chair of the Cultural Fund Working Group from outgoing Board Director Geoffrey Atherden. “Every year we’re thrilled to see the calibre and breadth of applications and how they interpret the theme; we encourage all the visionaries out there to submit.”

The Screenrights Cultural Fund supports projects that foster the creation and appreciation of screen content in Australia and New Zealand. Now in its fifth year, the Fund has awarded over $1 million to screen industry initiatives since it was established in 2018.

Expressions of Interest

In 2022, an Expression of Interest process was introduced to the Cultural Fund grant round to assist less experienced grant writers with their applications. We are continuing this process in 2023, and you can submit an Expression of Interest here to access independent advice on strengthening your proposal. The EOI deadline is 31 March.

The Screenrights Cultural Fund is not a development or production fund. For development or production funding opportunities, we suggest checking out your regional screen or arts funding bodies.
