ACCC Drafts News Media Bargaining Code

On 31 July 2020, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) released a draft version of the news media bargaining code.

Screenrights’ submission to the 19 May Concepts paper can be found here, with a focus on our membership who are part of the “news media” in Australia: broadcasters and makers of factual audio-visual content. We would like to see factual creators covered by the legislation as broadly as possible. Submissions from other parties can be found here.

The ACCC invites submissions from all interested parties to provide their views on the draft code by 5pm on Friday 28 August 2020. Written submissions can be sent to bargainingcode@accc.gov.au.
