New Submission Re: ACCC Draft News Media Bargaining Code

Screenrights has made a submission in response to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC)’s 31 July 2020 draft version of the news media bargaining code.

We believe that the scope of the code should cover documentaries, should extend to third party producers of news content, and should include the ABC and SBS.

Our previous submission to the ACCC’s 19 May Concepts paper can be found here, with a focus on our membership who are part of the “news media” in Australia: broadcasters and makers of factual audio-visual content.

Screenrights supports a Code that facilitates the appropriate remuneration of all news media businesses for the use of news content on digital platforms.
