Participate In Government’s Review of the Code of Conduct for Australian Copyright societies

Screenrights is party to a voluntary industry Code of Conduct for Australian copyright collecting societies. Every three years, the Code is reviewed by an independent party. The most recent review was conducted in April this year by former Federal Court judge, Dr Kevin Lindgren. His report can be accessed here.

Separately, the Government has announced a review of the Code by the Commonwealth Department of Communications. Details of the government review can be found at www.communications.gov.au/codereview

If you have an interest in the Code and would like to participate in the review, we urge you to go to the website and read the discussion paper the government has provided.

Public submissions need to be made by 29 September 2017.

If you have any questions concerning the Code, or Screenrights’ participation, please contact James Dickinson, Head of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, 02 9904 0133, licensing@screenrights.org
