Screenrights is very sad to share the news that our former colleague, Board Director, and friend Chris Gardoll passed away on Sunday 12 February.
Chris worked as COO of Screenrights in 2017/18, and we were delighted when he joined our Board in 2020. He had 15 years experience as partner with KPMG, CFO and Company Secretary roles with publicly listed companies, and with 8 years as CFO of APRA AMCOS held long and deep connections with copyright collecting societies and the creative industries. His voluntary work included Directorships with the NSW State Library Foundation and the Australian Music Centre.
Chris’ contribution to Screenrights far outweighed his time here. Appointed to a casual vacancy on the Screenrights Board in July 2020, he was subsequently elected by our members to a three-year term in November that year. Chair of the Screenrights Board, Kim Dalton, said, “In this short period of time his contribution to the financial management and the governance of Screenrights has been enormous. Beyond this, Chris was a thoughtful, kind and caring person. He touched many of us in his too brief period on the Board and he will be fondly remembered by us all.”
Our thoughts are with Chris’ partner and his family and friends.
