Activity: for TOGETHER, a collaborative live experience platform to tour schools across New Zealand with interactive film-based educational content. Brad Knewstubb’s pop-up touring model for TOGETHER aims to overcome barriers that remote communities face in accessing contemporary technologies and education content. The original proposal employed 360 degree projection in a geodesic dome, interactive video, augmented reality headsets and a fully immersive environment, however for a number of reasons including the pandemic, the approach shifted in order to make delivery more achievable with the new constraints.
August 2021 Update: Currently running through technical reviews with actors and ironing out the bugs. Unfortunately, the lockdown meant the prototype season at the star dome in Auckland had to be cancelled. 95% of the technology built for the premiere season of Destination Mars to be launched at one of the main galleries in Te Papa in association with the NZ International Arts Festival. The season will run for 4.5 months, 5 shows a day, beginning on the 17th of December, with an estimated audience of 55,000. In addition to the funding from Screenrights, TOGETHER also received funding from Creative NZ and Epic Mega Grants.
